Genre: Noise Rock, Post-Hardcore
Does noise rock get any better than this? Yeah, but the noughties produced few albums that can rival the condensed energy and sonic aggression of Mclusky Do Dallas, so don’t give up just yet. Andrew Falkous led the charge on an amazing genre revival with some real punk initiative. Not only is the album bursting with volume, passion and intensity, but the half hour play time ensures the message gets delivered fast. Thankfully there’s a mental break at the halfway point with the somber and reflective “Fuck This Band,” but don’t get too comfortable. The second half of this album is so relentless that even noise veterans might need to sit down and catch their breathe.
